Here we answer your most frequently asked questions and, if we’ve missed any, don’t forget to give us a call at any of our mobility shops.
Yes, we do.
Absolutely. We encourage our clients to try out a wide selection of our products in order to guarantee the right item is chosen. Sometimes a client may think one item will suit – such as a walking stick – only to opt for a different product in the end, e.g. a folding rollator. The same goes for our mobility scooters and power chairs; it’s important that your comfort is not compromised as a result of buying unsuitable mobility equipment. Talk to our wheelchair sales team about which model will suit you best.
Yes, you can. Our hire services range from daily to monthly and start at £5 for wheelchairs and £10 for mobility scooters.
Our clients are based throughout the southwest, mostly within 35 miles of our Trowbridge, Yeovil and Street shops. A comprehensive list of locations served by Mendip Mobility is available on our Areas We Cover page as well.
Firstly, it’s important to choose mobility equipment which suits your height and weight. Our team will take your measurements in a private setting and advise you accordingly. For walking aids, have you discussed your needs with your GP or physiotherapist first? If you have, are you now looking for a regular walking stick or one which will stand upright on its own, like a tripod or quadrupod?
Alternatively, if you’ve been advised to use a walking frame, it’s possible to borrow one from the NHS. Again, your doctor or physiotherapist will help with this, and you may need to pay a deposit. They’re not too expensive to purchase, with prices starting from as little as £40. Don’t forget to think about transport, and whether or not you’ll need a walking aid which can fit into the boot of a car.
Mendip Mobility is an appointed representative of Snap Finance Ltd and offers facilities where you can spread the cost of your purchases over 36 months. Alternatively, if you pay off your loan within 4 months, the remaining interest charges will be cancelled. Snap Finance is also extremely flexible and happy to assist if you run into difficulties with repayments.
If you conform to the following criteria, then you may be eligible for a loan:
That’s not a problem. Whether you’ve purchased one of our new or used scooters, we’re more than happy to deliver it direct to your door. Repairs and servicing for both new and pre-owned mobility scooters can be carried out at your home as well, or you can return them to our Trowbridge, Yeovil or Street mobility shops.
